Jason Mraz returns with “I Won’t Give Up”, another potential AC hit
Jason Mraz is preparing to release his fourth studio album, and the lead single is simply perfect.
“I Won’t Give Up” is a beautiful guitar ballad that shows off Mraz’s excellent vocals and superb songwriting talents. Here, Mraz shows a lot of restraint, starting off really slow and soaring into the chorus. The harmonies are gorgeous.
The song also shows some musical maturity for Mraz. He could have easily given us another “I’m Yours” — his lighthearted monstrous hit from a few years back — but here he’s talking about holding on to a relationship no matter how tough times have gone. Sniff, sniff!
(On a side note, this is a theme that Adam Lambert’s “Better Than I Know Myself” also explores. Is this something we should expect more this year?)
